One of HPC’s primary goals is to maintain the original functionality and appearance of the vehicles while providing complete passenger protection.  Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) can pose particular challenges as the tailgates on these vehicles have a large surface area to protect.  The hinge and piston systems designed to open these large doors are not designed to support the added weight of higher levels of armor systems.  To acheive these higher levels of protection HPC has designed a variety of different tailgate systems that keep the majority of the weight of the armor components off of the tailgate and hinge systems while maintaining convenient access still ensuring complete protection of the passenger compartment.  These systems can be designed and achieved for all vehicle makes and models.  You can have complete confidence that HPC’s experience and provden designs will provide absolute protection to the rear of the passenger compartment, still allow convenient access and maintain the reliability of the OEMs (original equiment manufacturers) tailgate systems.
